When Dhian moved to St. Thomas from the Toronto area he was able to start a business and access local supports to help along the way. Since settling here he has made connections through the local business community.
Feeling Welcomed
When Dhian first decided to move to St. Thomas he was concerned he would stand out as a visible minority. However, when he took over his business he received a lot of support from the community and his patrons, and is now a well known and loved member of the community.
Community
Dhian was concerned about social connections since the Sikh communty in St. Thomas is small. His family now attends the Sikh temple in London on the weekends, but he has also established his own community here in St. Thomas through the Chamber of Commerce and the Business After 5 events.
